NAACP DeKalb Partners with Georgia Power to Highlight Utility Savings for Seniors and Income-Qualified Residents

 

The NAACP DeKalb County Branch Health Committee partnered with Georgia Power Company to host a virtual community webinar on January 26, 2026.  This webinar focused on Utility Savings for Seniors and Income-Qualified Residents. The webinar aimed to ensure community members are informed about available programs that help reduce monthly energy costs and support household stability.

During the session, Georgia Power representatives provided an overview of energy assistance programs, senior-specific and income-qualified support options, flexible payment plans, and practical energy-saving tips. Attendees received guidance on how to determine eligibility, apply for assistance, and connect with additional resources to better manage rising utility expenses.

The webinar was hosted by the branch to create education and engagement for the participants and empowering participants to use the information provided.
