Coronavirus continues its devesatation in Georgia

A rapidly growing rate of coronavirus infections has Albany under siege. Its main hospital is so overrun with sick and dying patients that nurses at one point had been told to keep working even if they tested positive themselves, and the administration turned to the underground market to try to find essential supplies.

Public officials fear the gravity of the crisis hasn’t sunk in for many residents in the Dougherty County city or nearby communities. Dougherty County still finds itself, with the state’s highest concentration per capita of patients known to be infected with COVID-19.

Atlanta is already struggling to handle the influx of patients at its hospitals as the coronavirus pandemic sweeps Georgia’s capital city. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said Tuesday that intensive care units are already “at capacity,& quot; partly due to water damage at Grady Hospital that has eliminated some of its beds.

“People have to understand that when we overrun our hospitals, people will still come in with heart attacks, people will still have car accidents,” Bottoms told CBS 46.

As of 3-29-20 at 10:23 a.m. The state of Georgia has 2,651 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 80 deaths. DeKalb County Georgia have 272 confirmed case with (0) deaths. The state of Georgia is still trending up.
