Edwina Clanton President of NAACP DeKalb

Mrs. Edwina Clanton replaced Lance Hammonds as the NAACP DeKalb Branch President as of July 1, 2023.  

Edwina Clanton has been a long-time member and officer for the branch.  She said, “I will work closely with our outstanding team to address the pressing issues that affect marginalized communities, such as voter suppression, educational inequality, criminal justice reform, and economic empowerment.  Together, we will continue to push the boundaries, effect meaningful change, and continue the fight for equality, dignity, and justice.”

Lance Hammonds relinquished his role as president after filing his intent to run for DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner in the next general election.
